Industrial exports constitute an important aspect of GDP in most countries of the world. Therefore, every county strives to promote and develop its foreign exports via creating outlets and markets for their goods. Although Arab governments attach great attention to industrial exports development, believing in the importance of such exports in economic growth and social development of their peoples, however there are many challenges facing those exports that led to a decrease in the total GDP of Arab countries.

With the emergence of economic blocs spreading in the world such as the EU, ASEAN, NAFTA, MESCOUR and others, their growing role and the cutthroat competition of their products in international markets, it becomes necessary for Arab countries to find effective and strong mechanisms for Arab industrial exports. Mechanisms based on a strategy to achieve balance, take into account national interests, enhance their capacity to access all markets, especially the Arab markets that includes over 326 million consumers, in order to deepen the benefits from the advantages of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone convention, in preparation for an Arab common market in addition to enabling them to compete in international markets.

According to the competences of Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) concerning the elimination of barriers and increasing interaction between production units based in Arab countries in different production, technical and marketing aspects, in an effort to upgrade the Arab industry including the quality of specifications and standardization so as to promote their exports as well as their competitive and negotiating capacities, during the consultative meeting AIDMO held at the Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo in October 19, 2009 on the reality of Arab export industries and ways to meet the challenges of their exports and competitiveness, AIDMO put forward an initiative aiming at deepening the interrelations between industry and industrial exports development, taking into consideration that promoting Arab exports and opening new markets is the main driver of Arab industrial development.
