| Prof. Abd Alla Gad graduated at the Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, B. Sc. Specialized in Soil Sciences, 1976 with degree of "Very good with honour degree. He then continued studies at the Faculty of Sciences, State University of Ghent, Belgium, Scientific Degree of Graduate in Advanced Studies in Soil Sciences, July 1982. He is expert in soil survey, land evaluation, land degradation and desertification, digital soil databases and air-photo interpretation with practical exercises. He has attended a number of international scientific events around the world and has published many papers both in Egypt and aboard. Prof. Gad has performed post Doctor Studies in the Remote Sensing Technology International Center (RESTIC) in Tokyo, Japan, in 1994. He has got a peace fellowship for post Doctor Studies in the State University of South Dakota in 1995. In 2000 he earned the state prize in advanced technical Studies Agricultural Sciences in Egypt. He has been national expert in the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and continues to be deeply involved in environmental impact assessments in Egypt and in the Arab world. He acted as the regional coordinator for a number of EU funded projects (AVICENE, CAMELEO, LANDWATERMED, MEDCOASTLAND, and MEDAQUA) since 1992. He is currently the National Coordinator of MELIA EU-INCO Project, while heading the International working group linked MIRA and Horizon 2020 projects activities. Dr. Gad has been the Principal Investigator of several National funded projects in the field of soil and environmental sciences. At the time being he is the PI of the National project "Developing the Land Resources Digital Database of Egypt for the Optimal Agriculture Use" since 2002. In 2008 the European Commission selected him as project evaluator for the Marie Curie programmes. Prof. Gad has published a number of 110 articles in different International and National Journals and bulletins. |
